What we keep in your browser

An honest account of the browser storage and tracking technology OperaAtlas actually uses.

Last updated: September 2026

Essential journey storage

OperaAtlas uses your browser’s local storage to remember the evening you are composing — the performance, date, chosen door and chapters. This is essential to the experience: it is what allows your journey to still be there when you refresh the page or return later. It stays on your device and is not used to track you across other sites.

Cookie-free web analytics

Deployed OperaAtlas pages use Vercel Web Analytics for basic traffic measurement. This analytics service is designed to operate without analytics cookies or local storage and does not follow visitors across different websites. It is used to understand aggregate site usage, not to build advertising profiles.

Affiliate links are links, not embedded trackers

When OperaAtlas activates a tracked affiliate URL, that link may carry a referral or reporting identifier to the external provider or affiliate network. OperaAtlas does not currently load an advertising or affiliate tracking script on its own pages simply because such a link exists.

What we do not currently load

We do not currently use advertising cookies, cross-site advertising trackers, or affiliate-network tracking scripts on OperaAtlas itself. The journey storage described above is functional, and the web analytics layer is cookie-free.

If this changes

If we later introduce non-essential cookies, local-storage trackers, advertising scripts, affiliate scripts or comparable technologies on OperaAtlas itself, those technologies will be connected to an appropriate consent mechanism before they are used, and this page will be updated to explain the categories, providers and controls available to you.
